Bare your Bra Sponsored walk for Breast Cancer Research on Wednesday 16th July 2008

Walkers can bare their bra in any way they wish, from the brave to the ridiculous! If you want further information and a sponsor form you can contact Pam Howorth from Oh La La! Lingerie Main St: Tel (01535) 640640

2006 will be the third year of this sponsored walk. To date almost £7500 has been raised in aid of Breast Cancer Research Action Group, a charity based at Leeds General Infirmary funding research into breast cancer and offers support to patients.

The event is co-ordinated by Pam Howorth from Oh La La! Lingerie for Breast Cancer Research. 2005 event here...

Situated at Leeds General Infirmary the Breast Unit cares for 600 women who annually attend for surgery. The out-patient clinic treats more than 3,000 women each year, highlighting a real need for these dedicated services within the NHS.

The group have adopted the Snowdrop as their logo as a symbol of hope:

I thought I was mistaken when I thought I’d seen –
Snowdrops in the grasses, pale against the green …
The sky was dark and heavy, but back I went to see.
It was no illusion. They’d come, I felt, for me.

Quietly they struggled through the frosted clay –
With a secret message to speed me on my way …
These fairylike creations defying winter’s breath –
Had brought an angel message: Life lives.
There is no death.
