1940s Weekend Welcome Dance, Friday 14th May 7.30pm to 12.00pm. Tickets £8. The 309s with Miss Tallulah & Shoe Shine Boy. at Haworth Community Centre. Licensed Bar .

Big Band Sound, Saturday 15th May 7.30pm to 12.00pm. Tickets £14. Tony Greenwoods Big Band with Decades, at Haworth Community Centre. Licensed Bar.

Jitterbug Boogie Jump & Jive, Saturday 15th May 7.30pm to 12.00pm. Tickets £18.50. The Jive Aces with GI Jive, at Keighley Victoria Hall. Licensed Bar. Ration Bag Supper Included.

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

These are her own high spirited tales of trust, and courage, love and loss alongside some favourite songs from the 1940’s. These stories were inspired by the lives and loves of the local Land Girls.

Haworth 1940's Weekend 15th 16th May 2010 The sights and sounds of the 1940s wartime years.

We turn the clock back to the 1940’s which sees the main street take a step back in time to the era of Air-Raids, Ration Books and Utility Suits. People wear period dress, the Home Guard is put on standby and out come the sand bags, troops carrying kit bags can be seen striding out up the hilly cobbled streets. 40’s Vehicles are dotted up and down the street, with 40’s News Paper & Programme of events on sale bringing the latest news from the front lines. Live entertainment on the street over the weekend with Military Vehicles, Jive Dancing and Marching Pipe Band on parade.
