On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the First World War ended. Remembrance Sunday is the day to remember all those who have given their lives for peace and freedom.
The Ceremony takes the form of a short Service of Dedication, observation of the Two Minutes Silence and official wreath laying.
THEY SHALL GROW NOT OLD, AS WE THAT ARE LEFT GROW OLD; AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM, NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN. AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)
