This is the first pub I ever went in with my dad and grandad. It was much smaller than it is now, less than half the size. The picture was taken just a few months after I was born and it makes me feel old that this was the scene at that time!

My father, Donald Bennett,(Buck)was in the RAF during the second world war, with the landlord of the Fleece, his name was Bill Gallagher, he was also the landlord when the railway children was filmed there, the stars of the film stayed in the Fleece. We visited him on many occasions and i fell in love with Haworth and still visit regularly.

The village of Haworth as given me great joy and memories over the years. What ever time of year i visit, the place holds a magical place in my heart. Had many beers and great times in the Fleece Inn.
