Many of the stones are marked KC 1902. The land was purchased
by Keighley Corporation in 1902 from Stanbury Freeholders,
to secure their water gathering grounds.

Yorkshire-Lancashire Ancient County Boundary,
inscribed "HC". The Yorkshire-Lancashire boundary
around here was moved half a mile east in 1618. This stone
stands very close to the old line of the boundary on the
natural watershed. It is unlikely, however, that the stone
shown here dates back so far - it looks eighteenth or
nineteenth century. HC may be for one of the Cunliffes
