Common Blue Damselflies mating:

Top picture; The male (top) has clasped her at the back of the head with his tail and she (lower) brings her genital aperture in contact with his reproductive organs.

Lower picture; When mating has finished the female lowers her abdomen, the male still holds on to her as he does not want her to mate with another male.
