Sun June Haworth

Description:
On the 8th June 2004 Venus passed directly between the Earth and the Sun, the first time since 1882. Picture taken from Haworth UK at 09:36:50 GMT - N5350.040 W00157.024
If you missed the transit, the next time it happens in the UK is on Dec 11th 2117! There is a transit on 6th June 2012 but will only be visible in the Pacific, Australasia and Eastern Asia.

You can see a time lapse of the transit of Venus more... The timelapse is 115kb and will take 1 - 3min on a 56k modem, you will need flash.

Remember NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN. Do not attempt to photograph the sun with a camera as you are likely to damage the equipment, you will need special filters.
