Time lapse of a Laburnum tree coming into leaf, flowering and losing leaf. The actual elapsed time was 11 months. The first frame was taken on 1st February, the last was on 25th December. Initially a frame was taken every few day, as the buds broke on the tree was increased to every other day, as the flower buds appeared a frame taken once a day. The last frame was taken on December 25th 2004 which was a white Christmas.
Laburnum trees are highly poisonous, children may be tempted by the seeds which they mistake for pea pods, which if eaten can be fatal. The leaves and root also contain poison. If you suspect a child has eaten any of the seeds you must take them to Accident and Emergency as soon as possible.
