Yorkshire in Bloom results

The results of the Yorkshire in bloom competition held at Sheffield on Tuesday 13 September 2005:

In the small country town category Haworth has finished in 3rd place (joint with Addingham). In 2004 Haworth was 5th, 7th in 2003, 9th 2002.

Steve Thorpe said "We are up by 14 points from 2004 and by 34 points since our first entry in 2002 which is a great achievement."

Judges comments:
"In town most businesses offered horticultural interest with many premises displaying all forms of container gardening. The grounds around the Bronte Parsonage Museum were maintained by the lady volunteers in a cottage garden style in keeping with their surrounds. Central Park maintained by the Local Authority showed good examples of summer bedding and box mown lawns. A very good entry where all members and groups of the community appear to be working in harmony."
