17/01/2013 - Tour de France 2014 to pass through Haworth
Photo shows the Tour of Britain Cycle race which went past Haworth in 2004The route of the 2014 Tour de France has been announced today, which will pass through Haworth on 6th July:
Stage two, July 6 2014: York - Knaresborough - Silsden - Keighley - Haworth - Hebden Bridge - Elland - Huddersfield - Holmfirth - Sheffield
Unlike the Tour of Britain Cycle race which mainly used the A629 - A6033 route to Hebden Bridge, it appears that the cyclists will go through Haworth. Looking at the map on letour website (which is not detailed enough to give the precise location) the route takes a right at Cross Roads roundabout on to the B6142 (it is possible they could take a left on to A6033, take a right down Brow Rd) past Mill Hey, Station Rd, up Bridgehouse Lane, unknown if they will use Rawdon Rd or the narrow and setted Haworth Main St, on to North St, West Lane, down to Sladen Bridge up towards Stanbury, take a left on to Reservoir Rd, over Lower Laithe reservoir, past Penistone Hill to Moorside Lane, Shaw Lane, to Oxenhope, on to the A6033 to Hebden Bridge.
