Set amongst 11 acres of ancient bluebell woods, our impressive 18th century cotton mill has been beautifully renovated into 4 one bedroomed apartments and 3 spacious houses accommodating up to 7 people. The two mill workers cottages, each sleeping up to 4 guests, ensures that we have accommodation to suit every party size and need. Prices reflect our desire to share this wonderful retreat with as many guests as possible and in no way exploit the 5 star rating awarded by the tourist board. The price range for the apartments (2 people)is £250 - £300, for the cottages (4 people) £300 - £350 and for the houses (7 people) £450 - £600. My wife and I, along with our 5 month-old baby, stayed in Bents Mill Apartment No. 3 during Nov 2009. First impressions on entering the flat were good as the flat is well furnished and tastefully decorated. Our delight increased when we discovered the whole host of small touches like fresh milk and butter in the fridge and food for our breakfast the following morning and the free Wi-Fi. You also have access to a communal games room which contains a (free) pool table as well asa library of books, videos and DVDs tha you can take back to your flat.
The area itself is picturesque with many delightful walks starting from the front door. Many of these are detailed in brilliant folder of information that is kept in the flat. This has every bit of possible information you could want down to postcodes of local supermarkets for SatNav and the menus of local restaurants.
Finally, to cap it all off, there's the price, which at £200 for 3 nights, represents remarkable value. You'd probably pay about the same to stay in a Premier Inn and there you'd only have 1 room and a tiny bathroom.
If you want a relaxing holiday to get away from it all I can't recommend Hewenden Mill highly enough. I certainly plan to come back.
